Mangaluru, Jun 2: At a time when thousands of aspirants vie with each other even to get a chance to appear on television or films in local languages, a college student here has got an offer to act in Hollywood film. The girl got this offer within weeks since she won a beauty pageant.
This lucky lass is none other than Jocita Anola Rodrigues, a second PU (commerce) student of Sharada PU College, Kodialbail here. Jocita had bagged the title in 'Teen Miss South Asia' contest held at Mumbai about a month back. She had also won a place among the top ten contestants at the 'World Teen Super Model' beauty pageant held at Macau.
Hollywood movie director, Frederic Devos, who had taken part in the said programme, was impressed by the body language, acting, poise, swagger etc he observed in Jocita, and came up with an offer to act in one of his films. Jocita has readily grabbed the offer which came her way within weeks after she won the beauty contest.
Frederic will be visiting Mumbai to hold discussions about the proposed movie. Discussions will be centered around the film in which Jocita will be acting, and its storyline. Thereafter, a final decision about accepting the offer will be taken, it is gathered.
Jocita, daughter of Kodialbail-based entrepreneur from the city Wilfred and home maker Anita Lobo couple, had evinced interest in modelling since a young age. She was a student of St Aloysius high school here before getting admission into Sharada PU College. She also got modelling training in Fashion ABCD in the city.
Shubhakiran Mani of Sizzling Guys introduced Jocita into the field of modelling. She got further guidance in modelling from Sharan and Anupama Syuvarna of Fashion ABCD. She already has acted in a Tulu movie, 'Deverna Daye'. In addition to modelling, Jocita is well-versed in singing, dancing, and cooking.
Jocita is now looking forward to the unlimited opportunities that might open up once she enters Hollywood. She plans to take a decision about continuing in the field based on the success of her first Hollywood movie.
