Mangaluru, Nov 16: A car caught fire near Kadri on Friday November 15 evening.

A man had purchased a Maruti Ritz from a second-hand vehicle showroom in Talapady and parked it in front of Kadri police station.

Later, when he started the car to continue his journey, flames erupted from the front portion. The occupants quickly exited the vehicle, which was engulfed by fire within minutes. Fire personnel from Kadri rushed to the scene and extinguished the blaze.

This marks the second such incident in five days. Last Sunday, a Maruti 800 caught fire at a petrol pump in Ladyhill. The occupants managed to escape in time. In September 2023, a BMW caught fire while in motion near NITK, Suratkal on NH 66. A similar incident occurred with a BMW at Adyar.
