Mangaluru, Aug 6: “About 1,56,000 hajis are sent for Hajj pilgrimage by the government from all over India this year. Out of which 15 percent will travel from Delhi alone,” said Mohammed Irfan Ahmed, national vice president of BJP Minority Morcha and member of Hajj committee during a press meet here at district BJP office on August 6.
On being asked whether there is any assistance to build Hajj house here in Mangaluru, he said, “About two acres of land has been identified near airport and when the next BJP government will come to power in Karnataka and we will build it.”
Speaking about the labourers stranded in Saudi, he said, “Union minister of external affairs had gone to Saudi and necessary steps are being taken to rescue and bring back these labourers. Most of them were working in Bin laden company whose crane collapsed in Madina.”
Replying to a query about many youngsters joining ISIS and steps taken by the government to check this, he said, “Islam has no connection with these organizations. The youngsters are lured into these organizations and they fall prey to it. If any such incident comes to our knowledge strict action will be taken.”
