Bike hits stationary tanker - riders suffer serious injuries

Bantwal, Jul 28: After a motor bike crashed into a tanker that had been parked by the roadside near Goodinabali near here late night on Tuesday July 26, both the persons travelling by the bike sustained serious injuries. Both stand admitted into a hospital.

The injured happen to be Yogeesh (27) from Kuppila near Pallamajalu in B Mooda village, and Annu (30) from Mogarnadu in Narikombu village. Both had crossed River Netravati by using the old steel bridge.

When their bike, which was moving at high speed, traversed the road humps at the end of the bridge, the rider lost control over the vehicle, as a result of which it hit the parked tanker, it is said. The front portion of the motor bike was badly damaged in the accident. Both the riders were tossed on to the road.

The locals rushed to their rescue and immediately arranged to take them to private hospitals at B C Road and Thumbay. As they were found to be in need of advanced care, they were shifted to a private hospital at Mangaluru thereafter.
