Mangalore, Jun 27: ‘Lathi Charge’, a periodical which had a wide circulation in undivided Dakshina Kannada and Kasaragod districts stopped its circulation after having lost affiliation with RNI.  However, now it has been re-christened as ‘Crime V/S Lathi Charge, ‘and it would be fortnightly, said P Ismail Mudushedde, editor of the fortnightly.

The paper would be available at the paper stalls of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kasaragod, Mysore, Bangalore, Hubli and Dharwad districts from Sunday July 1. He also said that it would not carry any advertisements but would cover the news from the six districts said districts of the state.

   ‘Crime V/S Lathi Charge’ would be released on June 29 at 4 pm.  On the same day there would be the celebration of the third anniversary of the paper. “We have also thought of felicitating the persons who have done significant achievements in various fields,” he added. “Mobile Madave” by Telikada Bolli Devdas Kapikad would be staged on the same day.

The function would be chaired by Mohan Alva while Suratkal MLA would inaugurate the function. Ravindra Shetty, president of District Working Journalists’ Association and Siraj Ahamad (an industrialist) . The paper would be released by A J Shetty, and special edition would be released by Ramanatha Rai.
