Shivamogga, Apr 5: Police have arrested six persons in a case of murder which took place on February 20 in Shivamogga. Earlier it was projected and believed that the said death had happened to due to communal unrest.
It was alleged that a mob had killed the person named Manjunatha after tensed moments were observed following a rally organized by PFI in Shivamogga on February 19. The dead body of Manjunatha was found on the road on February 20.
Now the police have revealed that the family members only killed Manjunatha and blamed the communal forces behind his death. They allegedly killed Manjunatha because of some family feud.
Nephew of the deceased Arunkumar (25), Cousin of the deceased Aruna (24) , Sister of the deceased Dakshayinamma (40) , Niece of the deceased Nethravathi (28) Sachin (23) and Swetha (20) are the arrested persons.
When police subjected the arrested persons into intense interrogations, they revealed that on February 20, they called Manjunatha home and killed him and threw his dead body on the road thinking the message would be sent to the public that Manjunatha was killed by a different community as communal unrest was going on.
