Islamabad, Oct 10 (IANS): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Thursday allocated Rs.200 million for a trust to be set up to rehabilitate victims of last month's suicide bombings that killed 83 people at a Peshawar church, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
Sharif made this announcement during a meeting with a delegation of the Christian community at Governor House in the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A community representative told Sharif that most of the church blast victims were poor people who were facing great difficulty in getting proper treatment.
The prime minister assured full support and protection to the minorities in the country. He said people belonging to every school of thought were important to him.
Two suicide bombers blew themselves up near All Saints Church Sep 22 when worshippers had gathered there for Sunday mass service.
The church, built in 1883, is situated in a congested locality and there were around 500-600 people inside at the time of the explosions.
