M'lore: Corp Bank donates Rs 1 crore to CM's relief fund

Mangalore, Aug 22: The Corporation Bank has donated Rs 1 Crore for the relief and rehabilitation of the people of Uttarakhand state which has been recently hit by torrential rains followed by cloudbursts, landslides and flash floods.

Recently a donation cheque of Rs 1 Crore was handed over to Vijay Bahuguna, chief minister of Uttarakhand by B K Srivastav, executive director of the bank at Dehradun.

As a part of fulfilling corporate social responsibilities and as a responsible corporate citizen, the bank has initiated several welfare measures aiming at the underprivileged section of the society in fulfillment of its commitment to social priorities.

As the bounden duty to extend support for the relief and rescue operations as well as for mitigating the sufferings of the affected fellow countrymen, Corporation Bank has thus risen to this occasion and has donated to the chief minister’s relief fund towards the cause for the affected in Uttarakhand.

Harak Singh Rawat, cabinet minister of Uttarakhand, Dr Kurian P Abraham, deputy general manager and Suraj Prakash Bakhshi, assistant general manager and zonal head of Meerut zone of the bank were the dignitaries present during the occasion.
