Mangalore: Sr Marcia AC Passes Away at 84

Mangalore, Jan 2: Sr Marcia (84) of Apostolic Carmel Congregation of Sisters passed away at Kotekar Stella Maris Convent on Tuesday January 1 after a brief illness.

Born to John Sequeira and Sabina on August 15, 1928 in Suratkal, she joined Apostolic Carmel Congregation of Sisters in the year 1953.
 
She served in the field of religion and education for a long period of 59 years. She was a teacher in St Ann's Institution Mangalore, Mary Hill Institutions in Kundapur, Jamshedpur, Chandigarh, Ranchi, Udupi and Mangalore, as a teacher, headmistress and superior in Margil and Kotekar Stella Maris Convent.
 
The last rites were held at Stella Maris convent on Tuesday January 1.

Her sister Lancia too is a nun at Apostolic Carmel Congregation, and is presently serving at Bharatpur, Kolkata.

    Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."
