Kundapur: Assault on forest officials during Ambergris raid - Another accused arrested

Kundapur, Dec 26: Police have arrested another accused involved in the assault on a forest department flying squad during a raid at Enkodi Sauharda Bhavana near Kodi, suspected to be linked to an ambergris smuggling racket.

The arrested individual, Abdul Rehman alias Addu, a resident of Kodi, is the fifth person taken into custody in connection with the case.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of December 18 when a team led by sub-inspector Janaki from the Mangaluru mobile squad of the forest department conducted a raid. As the team was not in uniform, those present at the location tied up some officials and assaulted them.
