Mangaluru: Two-day beach festival at Tannirbhavi to dazzle Karavali Utsava on Dec 28-29

Mangaluru, Dec 26: As part of the Karavali Utsava celebrations, a two-day Beach Festival is set to take place at Tannirbhavi Beach on December 28 and 29, announced Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan.

Speaker U T Khader will inaugurate the Beach Festival on December 28 at 6:30 PM. The event will begin with vibrant performances by local artists and promises an exciting entertainment-packed weekend for the people of Mangaluru. The first evening will feature a live concert by Manikanth Kadri at 7:30 PM, along with food stalls and adventurous water sports for visitors.

On December 29, the festival will include a concert by Raghu Dixit at 7:30 PM, a dance festival at 5:30 PM, and a sand sculpture competition starting at 9:30 AM.

Speaking about the arrangements, Beach Utsava president and police commissioner Anupam Agrawal stated, "Heavy vehicles have been asked to vacate the Tannirbhavi stretch, and parking lots have been arranged at five to six locations. Additional ferry services will be available from Sultan Battery to Tannirbhavi, along with a 1-km bus service to the venue."

Rohan Monteiro, managing director of Rohan Corporation, highlighted that the Beach Utsava would boost tourism and position Mangaluru as a prominent brand, reflecting the city’s rapid growth.
