2 families of bereaved Ayyappa devotees sanctioned Rs 5 lac compensation each

Belagavi, Dec 26: Bereaved families of two Aiyyappa Swamy devotees, who died due to cylinder blast, at Acchavva Colony in Unkal of Belagavi district will be provided with compensation of Rs 5 lac each, according to an announcement made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Belagavi on Thursday.

As many as nine people were seriously injured in the cylinder blast, who were taken to hospital for treatment. Of the nine persons, two died this morning.

The deceased persons have been identified as Ajja Swamy alias Ningappa Bepari (58) and Sanjay Savadatti (28).

The other seven injured persons are being provided with treatment.
