Bahrain, Nov 20: The award-winning Kannada Sangha of Bahrain hosted the grand cultural event ‘Kannada Vaibhava’ on the outdoor grounds of the Indian Club as part of Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations. The event captivated thousands of Kannada-speaking attendees with a vibrant showcase of Karnataka’s rich culture and traditions.
The program was graced by Indian ambassador to Bahrain, Vinod K Jacob, as the chief guest. Other distinguished guests included Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta, KPCC general secretary Mithun Rai, Dr U T Iftikhar Fareed, Dr Balakrishna Shetty, Dr Shivasharan Shetty, Kavu Hemanath Shetty, actor Nenapirali Prem, actress Amrutha Prem, and several others who added prestige to the occasion.
The event featured a spectrum of cultural performances, including folk dances, cinematic and classical dances, and dance dramas, beautifully showcasing Karnataka’s artistic heritage. The rendition of Karnataka’s state anthem and other cultural highlights brought a vibrant cultural world to life, enchanting the audience. Actor Nenapirali Prem delighted the gathering with a live performance of the song Nammavva Kano Kannada from his movie Pallakki, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The program began with dignitaries and Kannada Sangha office-bearers, led by President Amarnath Rai, lighting the ceremonial lamp. In his speech, Ambassador Vinod K. Jacob lauded the Kannada Sangha's commitment to preserving Kannada culture and surprised the audience by addressing them in Kannada. Other dignitaries from Karnataka also commended the Sangha for its over four-decade-long service to the Kannada-speaking community abroad.
On this occasion, distinguished guests were felicitated as a mark of love, respect, and gratitude from the island’s Kannada community. The event also saw the launch of the Sangha's annual souvenir, Kaveri 2024.
Addressing the gathering, Kannada Sangha President Amarnath Rai expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the dignitaries and contributors for making the event a grand success. General Secretary Ramprasad Ammanadka compered the formal program and delivered the vote of thanks.
The Kannada Vaibhava event stood as a remarkable celebration of Karnataka’s glory, uniting Kannadigas in Bahrain under one cultural roof.
