Mangaluru: Milagres College organizes national level PU IT fest ‘Techtonic’

Mangaluru, Nov 13: Milagres College, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the department of computer applications, inaugurated Milagres Techtonic, a national-level IT fest on November 13, for pre-university (PU) students. The event took place in the college auditorium and brought together students, faculty, and technology enthusiasts from across the region.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the esteemed chief guest, Dr Hareesh B, associate professor and head of the department of MCA at St Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore. In his address, Dr Hareesh highlighted the pervasive influence of the digital world on the current generation, noting that many young people spend significant time engaging with social media platforms, creating reels, and immersing themselves in online spaces. His words served as a reminder of the importance of balancing digital interaction with meaningful, productive engagement in technology and academics.

Dr Michael Santhumayor, the principal of Milagres College, delivered the presidential address, expressing his best wishes for the success of Milagres Techtonic. He emphasized the significance of such events in fostering technical skills, creativity, and collaborative learning among students. Other dignitaries present on the dais included Manisha Kotian, a well-known choreographer and model, and Suhag Rao, a popular content creator. Their presence added inspiration and a touch of excitement to the event.

The programme was skillfully hosted by Jynica D’Souza, a second-year BCA student, who guided the event smoothly. Sushmitha Kumari U, event coordinator and HOD of BCA welcomed the gathering. The vote of thanks was delivered by Zainab Reem, also from the second year of BCA, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organizers for their contributions to making the event a memorable one.

Milagres 'Techtonic' promises to be an engaging platform for young minds to showcase their talents, exchange knowledge, and foster a spirit of innovation in the realm of information technology. The fest has successfully set the stage for a vibrant exchange of ideas and skills among students and tech enthusiasts. A total of 9 colleges had participated in the event.
