Beltangady youth dies after slipping into river Cauvery in T Narsipur

Mysuru, Apr 19: In a tragic incident reported on April 18, a youth from Navoor village in Beltangady taluk lost his life after accidentally slipping and falling into the river Cauvery in the Bannur police station limits of T Narsipur taluk, Mysuru district.

The deceased has been identified as Mansoor (19), a resident of Kuduru in Navoor village. He was employed with a poultry transport vehicle and had travelled to Bannur in T Narsipur taluk with two of his co-workers on the night of April 17. On Friday April 18, while washing the vehicle and attempting to bathe in the river Cauvery, Mansoor reportedly slipped into a deep spot and drowned.

Bannur police visited the spot and have launched an investigation into the incident.

The body has been kept at the mortuary of the Bannur Taluk Government Hospital. Bannur police have stated that the body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem examination.
