Gorakhpur, Apr 19: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to visit Gorakhpur on Saturday to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a slew of development initiatives valued at over Rs 1,500 crore, marking a significant stride in the infrastructural and social upliftment of the region.
According to official sources, the Chief Minister will launch a total of 147 projects. This includes the inauguration of 52 completed projects worth Rs 438.38 crore and the foundation laying of 95 new schemes with an estimated budget of Rs 1,061 crore.

Key highlights among these projects are the construction of a four-lane road linking Gorakhpur to Deoria, aimed at improving regional connectivity, and a new 50-bed hospital in Bansgaon, which is expected to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the area.
CM Yogi is scheduled to arrive at the event venue at 4 p.m., where he will inspect various development stalls before taking the stage. The event will begin with a welcome address by Pipraich MLA Mahendra Pal Singh and Member of Parliament Ravi Kishan, followed by the Chief Minister distributing beneficiary kits to locals.
He will also watch a short video showcasing the inaugurated and upcoming projects, after which he will address the public gathering.
This visit comes on the heels of CM Yogi's recent inauguration of the 'Powergrid Vishram Sadan' at AIIMS Gorakhpur — a 500-bed rest house for patients and their attendants, being developed at a cost of Rs 44 crore under Power Grid Corporation’s CSR initiative.
Speaking at that event, the Chief Minister had stated, “AIIMS Gorakhpur is emerging as a crucial healthcare hub in eastern UP. With projects like Vishram Sadan, we are reinforcing the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build a modern and developed India with accessible healthcare at its core.”
The Chief Minister’s current visit reinforces his government’s ongoing commitment to regional development, focusing on infrastructure upgrades, improved healthcare, and better connectivity for eastern Uttar Pradesh.
