Mangaluru, Oct 26: St Agnes PU College celebrated Grandparents' Day with grace and heartfelt appreciation on October 25, honouring the wisdom and love that grandparents bring to families. The event began with a warm welcome, by offering the 25 attending grandparents with a rose.

The programme opened with a prayer song, followed by a captivating value-based dance drama, highlighting the profound bond between grandparents and their children. Retro songs from the 1960s and 70s filled the air, bringing a sense of nostalgia, and a beautiful dance performance delighted the audience.

Roy Castelino, the chief guest expressed, “Grandparents are first teachers of life, the enduring bridge between parents and children. He continued with profound insights honouring the unique and priceless role of grandparents in preserving traditions and shaping future generations.

Principal Sr Norine D’Souza, vice principal, Sr Janet Sequeira, Dr Tressie Menezes, coordinator of Abhaya, Olivia Patrao and Jeevan, coordinators of the programme, faculty members both teaching and non-teaching along with the grandparents of the students participated in the programme. Fun games were organized, bringing joy to the day.

The event was elegantly compered by Apoorva from 2nd SEBA A, with a welcome speech by Asta D’Souza from 2nd HEPP, and the vote of thanks delivered by Thazmeen from 2nd CEBA. Grandparents were presented with a token of love, marking the end of a memorable and meaningful celebration.
