Udupi: SMVITM Bantakal signs MoU with NITK-Siemens CoE in digital manufacturing

Udupi, Oct 26: Department of mechanical engineering at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NITK-Siemens Center of Excellence in Digital Manufacturing on Oct 23, at NITK campus.

NITK-Siemens CoE in Digital Manufacturing is established by NITK, Surathkal in collaboration with Siemens Pvt Ltd to with an intension to upgrade the skills of students as per the industry requirement. The centre consists of various facilities such as product digitalization lab, process digitalization lab, factory automation lab, mechatronics lab, prototype lab and advanced analysis lab.

Also, the centre offers various courses for the engineering students to upgrade their technical skills. Through this MoU, the students of mechanical engineering will get good opportunity to pursue various courses and internships offered by the centre. Also, the staff at the centre have assured of guiding the students in carrying out their projects.

In the MoU signing ceremony, HOD of mechanical engineering Dr Raja Yateesh Yadav, faculty member of mechanical engineering Dr Bharath K Bhat, centre in-charge of NITK-Siemens CoE in Digital Manufacturing Arunachalam and student coordinator Royston Fernandes were present. The manager of 3D Engineering Automation LLP, Pune Hrishikesh Kolapkar has joined the occasion online.

The management, the principal Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat and the vice principal Dr Ganesh Aithal have congratulated the department of mechanical engineering for taking a good initiative for the benefit of students.
