Doha, Sep 7: Bunts Qatar hosted ‘Aatidonji Dina’, an event in Qatar on August 15 at Layan Garden Club House. This event marked the maiden celebration of ‘Aati’ month culture and traditional cuisines from Tulunadu, the first ever in Qatar.
The vibrant showcase featured a rich variety of Tulunaadu’s cultural practices and culinary delights, offering attendees a unique and immersive experience into the traditions of the region.
The evening began with a warm welcome from joint secretary Chidanand Rai, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp to inaugurate the programme.
Bunts Qatar president Naveen Shetty Iruvail in his address highlighted that, as always, the unity of the members made it possible to showcase Tulunadu’s art and culture through such an innovative programme and expressed gratitude to all participants and supporters.
Saurabh Shetty delivered an insightful speech on the significance of the ‘Aati’ month, elaborating on its cultural value and traditions and the speech was well received and appreciated by the audience for shedding light on these cherished customs.
Founder president Dr Moodambail Ravi Shetty and former president Navneeth Shetty appreciated and motivated the management committee for their innovative approach in organizing such event of native cultural significance.
Tokens of appreciation were presented to the members for preparing over 50 authentic Tulunadu dishes, which were the highlight of the evening, offering a delicious taste of traditional cuisine.
Members gathered in large numbers enjoyed the delicious, homemade Tulunadu dishes, which evoked cherished native memories along with the entertainment included melodious and devotional songs by Sudhir Shetty and Amit Shetty.
Audience appreciated the efforts of the management committee and supporters for successfully introducing these traditions in Qatar.
Sumanth Shetty anchored the show in his own style with entertaining the audience.
The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by cultural secretary Akshini Vignesh Shetty.
