Mangaluru, Aug 12: An orientation programme for the 2024-25 academic year was organized by Milagres College, for the undergraduate students and their parents.
Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions, presided over the programme. In his address, he stated, "Through education, we must instil moral values in students and shape them into outstanding citizens in society. Parents must also cooperate in this endeavour. Our youth have the strength to address the issues and challenges faced by society."
The resource person, Dr Dolan Champa Banerjee, head of the postgraduate commerce department at St Agnes (Autonomous) College, spoke on the occasion. She remarked, "The state education policy aims to create an educational model that aligns with regional, national, and global educational standards, and to develop students into strong individuals capable of facing contemporary challenges. The policy also facilitates new opportunities in education for students."
Dr Michael Santhumayor, the principal of Milagres College, provided information about the college. Assistant Prof Sowmya Kotian, coordinator of the parent-teacher association, and assistant Prof Denzil E Pinto, student welfare officer were present on the dias. Preema Ferrao welcomed the gathering, and assistant Prof Shravya N compered the programme.
