Mangaluru, Aug 5: The Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research, St Agnes College (Autonomous) organized a competition on the title “Revive, Restyle, Reuse,” on August 2. The objective of the competition was to ponder on sustainability and create a sense of awareness among students about the importance of the same. The session started by invoking God’s blessings. Iral Buena Rodrigues, final year student, welcomed the gathering.
The competition “Revive, Restyle, Reuse” was aimed at transforming discarded materials into remarkable creations with 13 teams showcasing their creativity and dedication towards sustainability.
The event was judged by Geetanjali Prabhu, assistant professor, Department of English and Amitha, assistant professor, Department of Zoology, who praised the participants for their originality, skills, and creativity. Sabina Rachel D’Souza, Sheikh Al Mufrin, and Shehnaz Banu bagged the first place and Farha Zainaba, Melanie D’Souza, and Aena Fathima grabbed the second place. Cash prizes were given to the winners.
The "Revive, Restyle, Reuse" was an initiative by the department to focus that everything has a second chance. It also initiates that someone’s trash can be another's treasure. Zam Zam Parveen, final year student proposed a vote of thanks.
