Mangaluru, Jul 25: With immense joy and great enthusiasm the feast of St Anne, the patron saint of St Ann's High school was celebrated on July 22 in St Ann's High school hall.
Arun D’Souza the PTA vice president was the chief guest of the programme. In his address to the students, he congratulated and encouraged the students on presenting a meaningful performance and gave a call to imbibe in themselves the good values like donating blood, and follow the virtues of St Anne.
The cultural programme began with a prayer service depicting the virtues of St Anne followed by a soulful prayer dance. Saniha of std XA welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest to the audience. A short skit was enacted depicting the life of St Anne which concluded with a song sung in praise to the patron saint.
A short skit was performed on the theme 'Parents love is the greatest love of all, it's the glue that holds everything together', by the students showcasing the joy of a mother’s love. The students performed a wonderful Bihu dance from the Indian state of Assam. The boys performed a lively dance which made the audience tap their feet to the rhythm of the music.
The headmistress Sr Ruby D’Souza AC in her message inspired the students to respect, love and show concern to their grandparents. Apoorva proposed the vote of thanks. Pranavi and Zulaika Nashweeha compered the programme.
