Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College launches service learning programme for Commerce students

Mangaluru, Jun 27: St Agnes PU College launched a service learning programme for Commerce students in collaboration with Agno Angels. This initiative aims to provide students with practical skills and community engagement experience.

The ceremony commenced with a solemn prayer and a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the light of knowledge and learning. A floral welcome was extended to the trainers Nagraj, Vandana, Mamitha and Sowmya of ‘Shri Manjunatha’ - Art and Crafts Centre, Ujire, Dharmasthala by vice principal Sr Janet Sequeira. Bhagya Nagraj, founder of ‘Shri Manjunatha’ - Art and Crafts Centre, Ujire, Dharmasthala was unable to make it to the programme. 

Vice principal Sr Janet Sequiera, Agno Angels coordinator Dr Tressy Menezes, head of Commerce Department Teena D'Souza and the Commerce & Arts faculty were present for the programme.

The trainers conducted an interactive session on garland making, imparting valuable skills to the Commerce students and enhancing their practical knowledge. The session was engaging and informative and the students showed enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.

The master of ceremonies, Manvitha, extended heartfelt thanks to the trainers of ‘Shri Manjunatha’- Art and Crafts Centre, Ujire, Dharmasthala for their dedication and contribution to the success of the event. The service learning programme is set to provide Commerce students with hands-on experience and foster a spirit of community service. The collaboration marks the beginning of a fruitful partnership aimed at holistic student development.
