Udupi, Jun 22: The 10th International Yoga Day was celebrated at GM Global School, Brahmavar. By lighting a lamp, the programme was inaugurated early in the morning on June 21.
Pranav Shetty, principal of the school addressed the students and said, “Yoga is the ancient science of India. Even before the Vedic time, yoga was in practice. Today, India is the world leader in the field of Yoga, which is recognized worldwide.”
Mamata Ganesh, yoga instructor and teacher at Excellent CBSE School, Moodbidre was the chief guest of the programme. She gave demonstrations of yogasanas and gave a beautiful message to the students to cultivate the practice of yoga in their daily life.
Prakashchandra Shetty, founder and president of GM Global School said, “Practice yoga for a good healthy body and healthy mind.” He called upon the teachers and students to stay healthy and free from diseases through yoga. He also appreciated the practice of yoga by the students.
One of the students expressed her views on the importance of Manyata Yoga.
Student Kaushik compered the programme, Smayan Shetty welcomed the gathering and Shivani Patil proposed vote of thanks.
