Mangaluru, Jun 5: The Expert P U College, Valachil joined the rest of the world in celebrating the World Environment Day to raise awareness on environmental issues with the theme Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience under the slogan our land, our future. The programme was organised by Green Ex.

Shafeeq S.M., faculty in biology, presented the topic and spoke on the issues leading to environmental degradation, climate change, over use of pesticides and other chemicals and emphasized to take pledge to protect the nature.

Students Arya K, Gokul G S, Pawani Rajneesh Varma and Pranav M Maramannavar expressed their opinion on the importance of the day.

Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, Subramanya Udupa, vice principal (Academics), Raghavendra Shenoy, vice principal (Admin) and members of the faculty were present.

Anitha P Shetty, lecturer in English welcomed the gathering and hosted the program. Vasudeep Shetty, biology faculty proposed vote of thanks.
