Mangaluru, Feb 15: Youth Red Cross Society of Mangala College of Allied Health Sciences and NCC section of Mangala group held a huge blood donation camp on February 14 in cooperation with Red Cross Society of Mangaluru. The camp was directed by founder president Dr Ganapati P and Dr Anita G Bhat.
More than 102 people donated blood. Convener of district Red Cross unit Praveen Kumar cooperated in handling the proceedings in a smooth manner.
Dr J N Bhat, retied blood bank officer of Indian Red Cross Society Mangaluru inaugurated the camp and explained the importance of blood donation and the benefits the blood donors get from the act.
PRO of the organization Anil Kumar and personnel Ramana Gowda initiated the blood donation. Vijeta Seena, lecturer and officer of Youth Red Cross Society of Mangala group, members lecturer Abineeta, Jishna K K and NCC coordinator Kavya, dean Prof Pratijna Suhasini G R, principal of physiotherapy college Dr Bharat K H, principal of nursing college Dr Prof Mary Pinto, all teaching and non-teaching staff of the organization and students participated in the event. The programme was compered by lecturer Sharanya.
