Kundapura, Feb 4: "Children are God. I have the privilege of serving 1.2 crore  students studying in 76,000 schools. The funds of the education department are earmarked for children's education," said state education minister Madhu Bangarappa.

Addressing a press conference in Kollur, he said, "If teachers turn their heads towards other activities other than physical education, I know how to control it and we will take stern action against such teachers."

"Our government has accorded priority to children's nutrition and two eggs are being provided every day," he said, adding that there is a plan to open 3,000 KPS schools like 500 schools every year. "A scheme to provide free NEET coaching to government school children is being contemplated," he added.

"I am happy to be made the vice-president of the party's manifesto committee. In recent times, BJP has been doing politics by inciting religious sentiments. They are facing elections by pretending that Ayodhya Rama is theirs. But we say that the Rama belongs to all of us. This time I have been made in-charge of Karwar, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru and Dakshina Kannada constitunecies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and any candidate in these three constituencies will go to the people, fight the elections and win," he said.

On this occasion, he said that he would make a sincere effort to start Narayana Guru's Academy.

Byndoor Block Congress president Arvind Pujary and senior leaders Raju Pujary, Babu Hegde and Ramesh Ganiga Kollur were present.
