Udupi, Dec 29: The valedictory ceremony of the inter-collegiate techno-cultural fest, Varnothsava-23,held at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal on December 28. Around 300 students from various institutes across Karnataka participated in the various events held as part of the fest.
The ceremony was presided over by his holiness Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji, president, SSVMET, Udupi. In his presidential address, he emphasized that studying content beyond regular syllabus is important, and that living life to one’s full capabilities should be every individual’s aim. Vinay Vaishnav, associate director, talent acquisition EY, Bengaluru was the chief guest of the programme. In his address, he mentioned that topics such as AI, data analytics and cyber security are trending in the industry. But hard work and integrity in your field needs to be a permanent trend always. He urged the students to become entrepreneurs with these qualities. Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal, Dr Ganesh Aithal, vice principal, Dr Renita Sharon Monis, technical coordinator and Savitha A Shenoy, cultural coordinator were among the dignitaries on the dais.
Dr Soumya J Bhat, head of the department of computer science and engineering welcomed the gathering. Savitha Shenoy, department of computer science and engineering, presented a brief report on the Varnothsava 2k23 events. Dr Renita Sharon Monis, department of mathematics and Arun Upadhyaya, department of electronics and communication engineering announced the winners of various technical and cultural events.
Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur won the Varnothsava-23 overall championship and Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Institute of Technology and Management, Nitte secured the runners-up place.
Dr Deepika B V, head of Civil Engineering Department proposed the vote of thanks. Adithi Nayak and Kushi Bangera, third year CSE students compered the programme.
As a part of Varnothsava-23, the ‘Yakshasinchana Team’ of the institute exhibited Yakshagana performance.
