Mangaluru: YEN-Refined holds research knowledge enhancement programme

Mangaluru, Dec 9: Yenepoya Research Centre for Finance and Entrepreneurship (YEN-Refined), A centre of The Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management (YIASCM), Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) organised a research knowledge enhancement programme on ‘Beyond Boundaries: Exploring Research Excellence’ for research supervisors.


 

The programme delved into the crucial aspects of research and development, providing a comprehensive overview of the institution's commitment in facilitating a culture of excellence in research. The session was delivered by Dr Arun A Bhagwath, principal & dean of faculty of science, The Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management, who initiated the program by presenting key research and development statistics, paving the way for an in-depth exploration of various components contributing to research excellence. The discourse covered drivers of excellence, resource mobilization, innovation ecosystems, research publication and awards, collaboration strategies, transdisciplinary research, and specific thrust areas. He emphasized that the research endeavours invested in research should yield results in the form of research output, encompassing innovative prototypes and peer- reviewed journal papers (indexed in platforms like Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, etc.), as well as submission for patents.

Dr Bhagwath's leadership was evident throughout, providing insights into the institution's dedication in cultivating a collaborative and innovative research environment. The programme served as an inspiring platform, leaving the participants with a profound understanding of The Yenepoya Institute's pivotal role in pushing the boundaries of research excellence. The programme was attended by all the 28 recognised research supervisors of The Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management.

The session witnessed the presence of Dr Shareena P and Dr Jeevan Raj, the vice principals of YIASCM who also shared their insights on collaborative research.

As Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) is enrolling fresh research scholars under the mentorship of recently appointed research supervisors, the programme played a crucial role in providing valuable insights into the institution’s research policies and expectations. The programme was co-ordinated by Dr Niyaz Panakaje, the co-ordinator of YEN-Refined.
