Mangaluru: Ladyhill Victoria Composite PU College celebrates annual day

Mangaluru, Nov 29: Ladyhill Victoria Composite PU College celebrated the annual day cum birth bicentenary celebration of foundress Mother Veronica which was held in the school premises on November 21. The dignitaries were welcomed by the Poorna Kumba and the school band. The prayer group students helped to invoke God’s blessings. A semi classical welcome dance was performed.

Among the dignitaries present at the function were Rashmi S R, KAS, assistant commissioner and sub divisional magistrate, Udupi district, Dr Nishitha Shetty MD, DM, professor, department of medical oncology, Father Muller’s Hospital, Mangaluru, Sr Violet Tauro AC, joint secretary of Ladyhill institutions, Jayaram Karandoor PTA vice president, Preethi Shenoy former PTA vice president and Sr Ujvala AC principal.

Sr Ujvala AC, principal introduced the guests and extended a warm welcome. The MC’s introduced the events and kept the audience entertained through their lively compering.

The colourful flamboyance of the divine tableau on the life of Mother Veronica spreads the message of love service and prayers.

A group of students performed a dance on “Beat plastic” thus mesmerizing the crowd and giving the message on the disadvantages of use of plastics.

There was a short stage programme. Wherein prizes were given to the young achievers both in academics and sports.

Retired teacher Irene and attender Thimmappa were felicitated for the valuable services rendered by them.

The annual report was presented with joy and pride showcasing the pride moments of achievements of the school motto ‘Through efforts to glory’.

Chief guest Rashmi, who is also an alumna of the school, in her speech thanked all the teachers and the institution. And owed her success to the institution. Teacher Clementina rendered the vote of thanks.

It was indeed a feast of talents presented by the students which included various dance forms like, tiger dance, folk dance and dances of European countries.

A play ‘Merchant of Venice’ written by William Shakespeare was enacted.

The programme culminated by singing the school anthem.
