Mangaluru: Organ donor family honoured at Ladyhill Victoria PU College

Mangaluru, Feb 16: Ladyhill Victoria PU College felicitated the family of their own student president Vaishnavi along with her mother Usha for their noble act of donating organs of her father the late Shailendra (41).

Shailendra, a travelling agent by profession had recently passed away due to brain haemorrhage. But the thoughtful gesture of the family to donate his organs gave life to tenindividuals. His eyes were shared among eight persons and a pair of kidneys to two of them.

As a mark of homage to the deceased and to thank Usha, for her humanitarian deed, the honouring ceremony was held on February 11 in the PUC hall. Joint secretary of Ladyhill Victoria Institutions, Sr Violet Tauro AC, principal Sr Ujvala A.C. and college coordinator Sr Supriya AC were present during the occasion. The staff members and students of PU also witnessed the ceremony. Astel Karkada, lecturer in commerce was the host for the event.
