Mangaluru: Session on wildlife conservation held at St Agnes College

Mangaluru, Oct 7: The department of Zoology, St Agnes College (Autonomous), in association with Nature Club, organized a session on the topic ‘Wildlife Conservation - Need of the Hour’ on October 6 for the BSc Zoology students and Nature Club members.

Kiran Vati, lecturer, department of Zoology, St Aloysius College (Autonomous) was the guest speaker.

The session began with a brief insight into National Wildlife Week which is observed form October 2 to 8. Kiran, spoke about the important aspects of conservation strategies. He narrated a few examples on how the organisms get affected by anthropological activities. He also explained the role of insects in sustaining wildlife.

Shwetha Pai, secretary for Zoology, introduced the speaker to the gathering. Ameetha K, head of the department of Zoology welcomed the speaker with flowers. Vivid Dsouza, Nature Club coordinator handed over the memento to the speaker. Renisha D'Costa, Nature Club secretary proposed the Vote of thanks. A total of 140 students attended the session.
