Mumbai (RBI), Apr 23: Karunada Siri, a cultural organisation based in Mumbai, organised its annual cricket tournament on Sunday at the Lions Club Ground in Santacruz. The event was inaugurated by Sunita Sharma, director of CCI Logistics Ltd and vice president of Mumbai BJP.
Speaking at the event, Sunita Sharma said, "Just as sports have no caste or religion, I too do not believe in such divisions. I believe in humanity. I am a human being first and live by the values of humanity. I urge everyone to adopt the same spirit. I am always ready to support those who live harmoniously."









Social activist Shridevi Rao lauded the commitment and organisational capabilities of Karunada Siri, which she said had helped it grow into a respected service-oriented institution.
In the senior category, Preetham Eleven emerged as the champions, while Lalitha S K Foundation secured the runners-up position. In the children’s division, NS Toko Riders claimed the first place, with Shadow Strikers finishing second.
The tournament saw the participation of 8 senior teams and 10 children’s teams, along with men’s and women’s teams. The children’s tournament was played first, with enthusiastic participation from former and current students of Namstats Coaching Classes as well as children from Dharavi’s The Hope Foundation.
Anil Gowda, Yogesh Supekar, and Mangesh Raypanor, key members of Karunada Siri, played a vital role in organising the event. President Balachandra Devadiga welcomed the gathering, while women’s wing members Lalitha Gowda, Mamatha Gowda, and Amrutha Gowda honoured guests with tulsi plants.
The programme was compered by Durgappa V Kotiavar and concluded with a vote of thanks by Bheemaraya Chilka.
