Udupi, Oct 3: Department of Mathematics in association with the Department of Mechanical; Industrial Engineering and Department of Aeronautical; Automobile Engineering are organizing a three-day International Conference on Recent Advances in Fluid Mechanics at Sir M.V. Seminar Hall, AB-2, MIT, Manipal from October 4 to 6.
Over 150 presentations on topics such as Numerical Techniques/Mathematical Modelling in Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Microfluidics, Biofluid dynamics, Aerodynamics and many more will be made by the participants from across the globe. Academic and industry leaders from India and abroad will be delivering keynote addresses on interdisciplinary topics like the application to systems of nonlinear ODEs and PDEs arising in science and engineering models, concept of microfluidics in probing cancer metastasis on a chip, the three-body problem from Newton to supercomputer plus machine learning, blood flow in the artery using CFD approach, modeling hydromagnetic mixed convection of nanofluids, transport of nanofluids, materials phase change study in curvilinear closed spaces and mathematical approach for studying novel coronavirus SARS COV-2.
The objective of the conference is to bring together computational experts and mathematical science leaders together for the benefit of society at large. Since a large number of post-graduate students and research scholars are expected to participate, the conference will enable the younger generation to apply the engineering aspects in interdisciplinary areas. This is today an emerging area and need of the day. MAHE having well-known engineering and health sciences schools, is the right place to groom young people in interdisciplinary research. In this regard, the conference is expected to make a very important contribution. The conference is sponsored by Council for Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR-Govt. of India.
