Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College holds student cabinet inauguration

Mangaluru, Jul 1: The student cabinet of St Agnes PU College for the new academic year was formally inaugurated in the College auditorium on Thursday, June 30 at 10:00 am. The theme of the programme was ‘Inspiring Women Achievers of India’. The ceremony began with a prayer song followed by a welcome dance.

Sr Dr Lydia Fernandes AC, the joint secretary of St Agnes Institutions was the chief guest on the occasion. During her address, Sr Lydia congratulated the newly elected cabinet members. She advised the students to make right choices in life to become a great human being, be focussed and develop the ability to persist in fulfilling their dreams.

The oath of office for the student cabinet, the class representatives and their assistants was administered by Sr Norine DSouza AC, the principal of the college. This solemn ceremony was also witnessed by the members of the PTA and the parents of the cabinet members. The vice principal Sr Janet Sequeira AC and all the staff members were also present for the occasion.

The newly elected cabinet members are:


Kathija Zamya – president
Anwika Preemal Miranda - vice president
ManviAnchan - Science secretary
Manasa Manohar - Commerce secretary
Jenisha Saldanha- Arts secretary
Ayisha Sahana - Cultural secretary
Soujanya M - Sports secretary
Nimra Patel - Student editor

The programme was compered by Serena Saldanha and Ivin Sequeira. Riona DSouza welcomed the gathering and Sweedal Fernandes expressed gratitude to all concerned for the success of the programme.
