It is really nice to have fasting prayers for such a long duration. The following are the intentions of fasting prayer as announced in Churches.
    - To have peace and harmony in the Society and in all families. In the present day Society, when there is disharmony, disputes and quarrels in most of the families, God’s grace is absolutely necessary to have peaceful living. God created entire universe and asked man to use all things and love each other. But presently man is using each other and loving the things of the world and hence quarrels with each other. By fasting prayers we have a chance to change our thinking.
    - To have leadership. In the present Society we have become followers and we don’t have model leaders in the political, economical or social field. Fasting prayers will help us to have good political leaders, good businessman, good professionals, good social activities etc in the Diocese of Mangalore.
Let all of us join together with the Bishop in fasting prayer for the growth of Mangalore Diocese in the wake of its 125 years of jubilee celebration.
Call given by Prophet Jonah could save entire Nineveh when they fasted likewise all Christians join together to fast and pray by obeying the call given by Lord Bishop, God will provide us with good leaders, peace and harmony in the society and good family life etc.
