Karkala, Dec 31: City police have arrested a notorious chain snatcher in connection with the theft at Pranav Jewellery shop near Mooru Marga in the city.
The accused is Mohammed Alikhan alias Irani Avani (32), originally from Jannat Nagar, Dharwad.
The police have recovered 26 grams of gold worth Rs 1.78 lac from the accused.
He has been produced before the court.
