M'lore: Pilikula Holds Dist Level Eco Club Teachers' Workshop, Children's Lab

Mangalore, Dec 8: It is important to control pollutants at their source to check further damage to the environment, observed A S Sadashivaiah, IFS president of Karnataka State Pollution Control Division.

He was speaking after inaugurating the district-level Eco Club teachers' workshop and children's laboratory organized for students at Pilikula here on Tuesday December 7. He said that the pollution check at the source is impratnt when its particles cannot be recycled in environmentally safe manner. He also called on students to create awareness on hazards of environmental pollution in the society.

Speaking on the occasion, Mangalore City Corporation mayor Rajani Dugganna stressed on the importance of growing plants and trees for green cover could help cut down the speed of environmental degeneration.

Mulki-Moodbidri MLA Abhaychandra Jain presided.

There were various activities for students including workshops on scientific developments and interactions on environmental issues that affect normal life. There was also drawing competition on environment pollution.
