Mangaluru: Lanchulal elected as president of CATCA

Mangaluru, Dec 16: Young producer and actor Lanchulal has been unanimously elected as the new president of the Coastalwood Artistes and Technicians Cooperative Federation (CATCA).

The election took place during the annual general body meeting held at Devanga Bhavana, Ashoknagar, Mangaluru. Along with Lanchulal as president, Sandeep Shetty Suratkal and lead actor Anoop Sagar were elected as vice presidents. Sudhakar Shetty Bedra was chosen as the chief secretary, Anil Karkera as treasurer, and Vinayak Jeppu as joint secretary.

The cultural secretaries elected were Yathish Poojary and Tharanath Urwa, while Mohammed Asgar and Ajit Shetty were named organizing secretaries. Charan Raj, Ranjan Boloor, Vijay Panjimogaru, Sukesh Shetty Padupadavu, Sachindra Shetty Udupi, and Manjunath Cherkady were elected as members of the working committee. Prakash Shetty Dharmanagara was chosen as the chairman.

In his address, the new president Lanchulal stated, “In the next two years, many new schemes will be launched for the development of the Tulu film industry and its artistes.”

Founder president Ashwini Kotian, former president Mohan Koppala Kadri, Pammi Kodialbail, Mohammed Asgar, and Anoop Sagar were also present on the occasion.
