Bantwal, Dec 7: The gymnastics and acrobatic show by students of Rama Vidya Kendra, Kalladka, staged under floodlights, here on Sunday December 5, was viewed with awe by a large number of spectators for nearly two hours. Nearly 200 students participated in the event which also had staged folk dances interspersed.
The discipline march past by students, puppet show by nursery children, and primary school students wielding artistically-created traditional lamps, demonstrated their acrobatic skills to the spectators.
It is for the first time that over 200 students of both primary and higher primary sections of Rama Vidya Kendra staged the gymnastics show. The primary school students staged dance while high school and college students staged a dance recital based on Dasa poetry, Yakshagana play, and patriotic songs. The high school and college students staged a Bharatanatyam show on the occasion.
The yoga demonstration, display of Indian martial arts, karate demonstration, acrobatics on a pole, one and two-wheeled gymnastics, adventurous acts on motorcycles, roller skating by students, and fire games, were all viewed by the spectators in awe.
The state minister V Somanna, Vijayashanker, and district-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar marveled at the gymnasts and the acrobatic show.
Mohandas Swami of Sri Dhama, Manila, Rajashekaranand of Vajradehi Mutt, Brahmanand Saraswati Swami of Kanyady Mutt, S Nithyanand Swamiji, entrepreneur Dayanand Pai, Raja, Prasanna, Rama Vidhya Kendra correspondent B Narayan Somayaji and secretary Dr Prabhakar Bhat were present on the occasion.
