Mangalore, Nov 29: Sacred Hearts’ High School celebrated sports Day with passion at its school ground here, on Friday November 26.
Sr Christella, the co-ordinator of educational apostolate of Mangalore province presided over the programme. Bhaskar K the corporator of ward 36 was the chief guest.
Sr Christella hoisted the school flag and spoke a word of appreciation to the staff and students for the wonderful display. She said that sports is a necessary part of educational syllabus for the all-round and healthy growth of children. Bhaskar along with the guests released the doves as a symbol of peace and freedom.
The school band welcomed the guests accompanied by the correspondent of the school Sr Concetta, headmistress Sr Cicilia Mendonca and the superior of Santa Cruz Convent Sr Lisa.
The colourful march past of the students brought glow to the ground and joy to the gathered audience. Sr Cicilia Mendoca, the headmistress of the school welcomed the guests.
The students of the school who will represent the nation in net ball tournament carried the Kreeda Jyoti. Felix Saldanha, Science teacher of the school compered the programme.
