Mangalore, Nov 24: At a press conference held in Dakshina Kannada district Congress office on Wednesday November 24, MLA Ramanath Rai said that Congress will emerge as the largest party in the upcoming zilla panchayat (ZP) elections due to its unity unlike other parties. He said that the people of Dakshina Kannada district are intelligent and will rejuvenate Congress and teach a lesson to BJP.

He also informed that G Parameshwar will visit the city and participate in a programme to be organized at Town Hall on Tuesday November 30. Women and people of backward community are always prioritized by Congress to uplift them. He lamented that most MLAs in Bangalore are engaged in real estate business and said when the elected leaders engage in business, the condition of constituencies will deteriorate.

Showing dissent over BJP’s way of administration, he said that the election officer himself is the CM’s agent, as a result the case filed by the Congress against ZP president Santhosh Kumar Bhandary was disqualified.

Accusing Dhananjay Kumar of being the most corrupt MP in the history of the country, Rai said that he owned several sites and flats illegally when he was the finance minister.

Rai strongly criticized religious leaders’ support to CM Yeddyurappa even after allegations on him were proved to be true and added sarcastically that ‘Prasadam’ handed over by them have a risk factor, as they too are misguiding the society.

Mangalore MLA U T Khader, Congress spokesperson M J Hegde, leader Ivan D’Souza, Suresh Ballal and district Congress secretary T K Sudheer among others were present.

Rai today BJP came to power only with the Blessings of your party Congress and JDS. You people ditched the people of Karnataka and so BJP rose to power. Today we are facing such a situation and your party and JDS should be blamed entirely for what is happening and happened in the State. Rai today Krishna was there in Karnatka as CM, BJP would have not come to power. So now what is the use of barking ? Dharam Singh cannot walk & Kharge cannot talk. No proper Leader in Karnataka which gave rise to BJP. So useless talking now we will Teach BJP a Lesson. BJP thought you Congress & JDS a Lesson.
