Moodbidri: Corpus Christi Church Parish Feast Celebrated

Moodbidri, Nov 24: The parish feast of Corpus Christi Church was celebrated on Wednesday November 24 with festal joy and conventional solemnity.

The solemn Eucharistic celebration started at 10.15 a.m. Fr Stany Goveas, the dean of Episcopal City Varado and the secretary of the Senate of Priests was the main celebrant and the preacher. All the 13 priests of the Moodbidri Varado and seven guest priests concelebrated along with Fr Austin Peter Peres, the parish priest and the vicar vara of Moodbidri Varado.

At 10.00 am, the donors and well wishers as well as the Parish Pastoral Parishad members were honoured traditionally by giving them the candles. The statue of Infant Jesus and Our Lady of Vailankanni were blessed and kept for public worship and veneration.

The statue as well as the “Cherrel” of our lady of Vailankanni was donated by Vincent
and Elveera Fernandes & Family, Bejai. The statue of Infant Jesus is donated by Godwin Cardoza & Family, Ruzai ward of Moodbidri Parish.

ICYM had put up stalls with lucky and fun games.

The lucky coupon, were the person can get a bike purchasing coupon obetween Re 1 and Rs 999 were also taken by many people.

More than 1000 devotees participated. The entire programme will be televised on Sunday November 28 at 8.00 am.

    Dear all,
    It was my pleasure to witness the magnificent feast mass at the Church of Corpus Christi on 24th Nov'10. The Eucharistic mass was incredible.I was lost in the hymns sung by the choir. Truthfully beyond any words to put in. I hope in future i may get more chances of witnessing feast at Holy Cross church Hossapet, Saverapura Church paladka.
