Mangalore: M V Shetty Institute's Weeklong HIV/Aids Awareness Campaign Inaugurated

Mangalore, Nov 22: Dr M V Shetty Collage of Social work organized weeklong HIV/AIDS awareness programme was inaugurated at the Council Hall, Mangalore City Corporation here on Monday November 22.

Deputy mayor Rajendra Kumar inaugurated the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, he urged the philanthropic and social service organizations to come forward to prevent and thus eradicate the killer disease by helping to spread awareness on the issue. For awareness is the key to prevent in case of a killer disease, he said.

Dr M Ramagopal Shetty founder secretary, M V Shetty Memorial trust, Mangalore was the guest. Shantha R chairperson, Standing Health Committee presided. M C Prahbu assistant general manger of corporation was the guest of honour.

Carol D’Souza lecturer of the college was the resource person.

The training programme witnessed participataion of as many as 300 corporation workers.

The programme intends to improve the level of awareness on HIV/AIDS among all sections of the people and encourage them to take responsible decisions.
