Udupi, Nov 22: “The state BJP administration has been involved in many land scams which has disgraced Kannadigas in the country. Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa is expected to take moral responsibility for this and step down to face a CBI enquiry”, urged legislative council opposition party leader V S Ugrappa.
He was addressing a large gathering of Kaup block Congress party activists’ convention, held here on Sunday November 21.
“The BJP-led state administration is not concerned with people’s welfare and is instead involved in amassing wealth for family members. Mining baron Reddy’s family, ministers Shobha–Ashok–Katta are also involved in land scams of various proportions thereby swindling nature’s resources”, he alleged.
Ugrappa urged the party activists to get ready to curb the swindling of nature’s resources of the state by the ruling party.
Legislative council former speaker B L Shanker inaugurated the convention. Udupi zilla panchayat president Gopal Poojary presided over the programme.
Former ministers Vasant V Salian and Jayaprakash Hegde, former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLC Pratapchandra Shetty, local Congressmen Srikar Suvarna, M A Gafoor, Sarasu D Bangera, Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Prasanna Kumar Shetty, Veronica Cornelio, Ignatius D’Souza, Navinchandra N Shetty, Devaraj Kaup, Vikram Kaup, Abdulla Kaup, Bhaskar, and Susheel Devadiga Bolar were present on the occasion.
Kaup block Congress committee president Gangadhar Suvarna welcomed the gathering. Rajesh Rao Pangala proposed the vote of thanks while Shivanna Bayar compered the programme.
