Bantwal, Nov 14: The Karnataka Bar Council has sent a proposal to state administration, in order to provide E-Library facilities in all regional Bar Councils in the state, said Karnataka additional Attorney General K M Nataraj.
Nataraj was delivering valedictory address on Saturday November 13 evening, during the concluding ceremony of a three-day Legal workshop, held at B C Road, here at the aegis of taluk Bar Council.
‘There are many demands by the lawyers for expediting the process of justice, while the state Bar Council discharges its responsibilities with the intention of fulfilling them in stages,’ said Nataraj. The lawyers are advised to effectively file proceedings on allegations on judiciary and any acts of violations, added Nataraj.
The state Chief Justice Nagamohandas presided.
Speaking at the occasion Nagamohandas said that at the backdrop of declining of trust by the people on judiciary, the lawyers are advised to improve their functioning. The healthy discussions and criticism will reform the judiciary, said Nagamohandas.
The State Bar Council vice-president P P Hegde said that the state administration has released Rs 10 lac, in order to conduct Legal workshops in all taluk and district centers, to improve the efficiency of lawyers, said P P Hegde. In this regard, each district centers will be allocated Rs 35,000 and each taluk centers of Rs 25,000, added P P Hegde.
The district sessions Judge H R Deshpande, Judges K P Dinesh, C V Sanat and Ankasadoddi, state Bar Council former vice-president T Narayan Poojary and member Sitaram Shetty among others were present.
The taluk Bar Council president Kaje Ramachandra Bhat welcomed the gathering. Secretary Rajaram Nayak proposed the vote of thanks. Lawyer Shivaprakash compered the programme.
