Mangaluru, Nov 1: The 66th Kannada Rajyothsava was celebrated with great pomp and splendor at SIT campus, valachil, Mangaluru on Monday November 1 with a tagline of 'Tantrika Neleyalli Kannadada Ale' translated this means 'Creating Waves with kannada in the domain of engineering and technology'.
Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal of college inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp and showering rose petals on kannadambe – goddess Bhuvaneshwari - The reigning deity of Karnataka state. The state flag, The pride of Kannadigas, a feisty one in golden yellow and vermillion was hoisted on the occasion which was followed by a rendition of state and national anthem by congregation led by Reethu and team along with this a flute played by Sangam.
The programme was coordinated by professor Sudheendra H N from the department of Mechanical Engineering with the help of 'AISIRI' Kannada Sangha 2021-22 with its president Naveenbabu N of mechanical engineering student and secretary Sayeeda Tasneem Arif of Computer Science and engineering and along with their committee members. Gathering of students, faculty members witnessed and made this event a grand success.
