Mangaluru, Oct 16: The Entrepreneurship Development Forum (EDF) of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organised a webinar for three hours with two sessions for the students of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Colleges on October 14, 2021. Dr Priya Agrawal, consultant and social entrepreneur from Mumbai was the resource person for the webinar. In the first session she gave an introduction to Securities Markets, prerequisites to invest in Financial Markets and the mechanism of Primary and Secondary Markets.
In the second session she took the students for a practical live trading session on screen and explained the process of analysing the capital markets and gave them an insight on understanding the investment terminologies and trading techniques. The main objective of organising this webinar was to provide knowledge on practical working of the capital market, its functionality, mechanism, latest updates and other important aspects. This initiative of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) aims to increase the efficiency of the participants to keep pace with the changing economy. It involves learning of practical tools, live trades and explanations on terminologies to help the participants to understand better by providing practical know-how to analyze capital markets.
The three hour session on a public holiday empowered the students with the diverse skills needed to intelligently manage their investment portfolio and be able to choose the right company, the right fund and the right investment strategy with confidence. This program helped the participants develop a range of technical skills and knowledge needed to work in a fast-paced financial environment.
Dr Devi Prabha Alva, the convenor of EDF and the webinar welcomed and introduced the resource person. Participants asked number of questions to quench their thirst for knowledge on stock market investments. They thoroughly enjoyed watching the live trading sessions on screen. The feedback form had full of appreciation to the resource person for her cheerful presentation skills. The webinar ended with vote of thanks by the convenor and participants were awarded with e certificates.
