Mangaluru, Oct 11: Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Mangaluru in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association, D K district, Local Branch, Mangaluru has organised two week workshop on 'Preparation, Evaluation and screening of Pharmaceutical formulations' from September 7 - 22, 2021. The aim of the workshop was to train Homeopathic, Ayurvedic medical students to have hands on experience on instruments that are commonly used in preparation, evaluation and screening of different types of pharmaceutical formulations, which can lead to collaborative research. Apart from the practical aspects, the participants were made to attend lectures by experienced pharmacy teachers on theoretical principles governing all three stages of pharmaceutical formulations.
At the end of workshop, the participants had the idea of stages involving manufacture of pharmaceutical formulations in pharma industry. Thirty participants were trained during the workshop.
Dr A R Shabaraya, president, IPA local branch, Mangaluru, principal and director, Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Mangaluru was the convener of the programme. Dr A R Shabaraya stressed the significance of having insight on pharmaceutical manufacturing technology while inaugurating the programme.
A valedictory programme was held on September 22 in which participants were handed over the certificates of participation. All the delegates expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and knowledgeable sessions they had undergone. Departmental heads of Srinivas College of Pharmacy, senior faculty members and Dr EVS Subrahmanyam, vice president, IPA local branch, Mangaluru were present in the valedictory programme.
