Udupi, Sep 6: “Udupi Janata Dal-Secular is ready to face district and panchayat elections. No party is free from family politics. We too are leaders. But we have not come from any political family. The national party has money power. But we have people power;” said JD(S) state vice president and state in charge Sudhaker Mysuru responding to news reporters. He was speaking in the news conference held at Swadeshi Heritage auditorium on Monday.
The district is recreated in the state. New committee is formed. We are starting a campaign to recruit about 22 lac members. JD(S) is not financially strong. It does not have a blot of corruption and bribes. Though there are several government schemes, those do not reach the people. District panchayat and taluk panchayat elections are decisive for JD(S). We will contest everywhere on its own,” he said.
“The state government is quiet. The future of youth is in the dark. JD(S) can win if it faces elections with people power,” he said.
“The work of JD(S) has failed to reach the people. The state government has failed to maintain the welfare of people. Two national parties are looting the resources of the country by mutual tussle. The people in the society want change. The state stood looking at the centre even for small decisions when the state did not have a chief minister. The Mahadayi and Mekedatu projects have stopped due to appeasement politics.”
“JD(S) is ready to independently fight the next elections without compromise. JD(S) candidates are ready for challenge in 30 district panchayats and 81 taluk panchayats. We will stay united for the win,” he said.
District president Yogish Shetty, executive president Vasudev Rao, secretary Jayaram Acharya, Gangadhar Bheerthi, Manjayya Shetty, Balakrishna Acharya, Iqbal Atradi, Chandrahas Ermal, Srikanth Poojary and Kishore Ballal were present.
